Yet another hello,

I have been told Vlad runs this show, and I am about to start on eve, at least 3 months, so I thought it would be a good place to start amoung people that I am familar with from IGN and Edon.

Well ccp finally got there computer systems worked out, because this morning I got my trial acocunt going... I will be learning the ropes this evening and hopefully getting in about 1-2 hours perday.

Just mucking about with the character builder, and I am thinking about the following character base. If this a suitable starter for a person looking to fly a very swift, up close and personal frigate type of guy?

That looks nice :) They say that int and per are the very important skills and getting the others (minus charisma) up too is a good thing. Frigate 4 is a great start too, you can pretty much jump into a rifter straight away and start hurting things !! Or even grab a cruiser soon ... Do it!

Do the beginning stuff, which will take a few hours. There's HEAPS to learn at the beginning and ask questions as ya go :)

I came accross a Rifter idea that I liked, a passively shielded tanker

3x 150mm Scout Autocannons - Whatever ammo is appropriate. EMP S works most of the time.
1x Rocket (Named if possible) - Whatever ammo is appropriate.

Mids:
1x Medium Shield Extender I
2x Shield Resistance Amplifiers I

Lows:
3x Shield Power Relays I

Ends up with something like 900 shield of the bat, and still is fairly quick. The other alternative is a stupidly fast (1+km/sec), balls to the wall ship that get in there face and fires a crap load of rockets.

Dusty desolate, yet surprisingly attractive refractions of light glinting off ice particles in the orbiting icebergs. It is a surreal landscape of harsh beauty constantly in a state of change. A dangerous place for the unwary, a good place to be if your ship is the Attitude Adjustment.

Suddenly a shrill warble fills my head, a ships distress beacon is letting of it last blast before it is reduced to its molecular components.

Instantly I know the position of the beacon, it is showing up emerald green in my spatial recognition plug-in, a mere 120,000m. Following the laws of space which derive from the laws of the sea, I quickly flick my duct tape rust bucket Rifter in the direction of the beacon and eased the ship into it maximum acceleration firing the afterburners.....

Huge chunks of ice bigger then my ship go hurtling by at almost a meter per second sometime only mere meters from glancing off my shield and the smaller chunks getting absorbed by shield.

As I approach the distress beacon, I switch my season on to active and detect two small frigates, I quickly lock on to both of them, firing my missiles as I close with them, lining up my arty cannon once optimal range and reached...

A few short seconds later...

Blinding light starts emitting from the hull of both ships of my weapons rip through them. The pirate being ready for only ripping off a poor miner were caught with their cocks on the chopping block and myself holding an axe. As the pirates ship lose their structural integrity and explode, I watch the wreckage fly apart looking for the tell tale sign of a cargo canister.

I spotted one flying away, I set an intercept course to pick it up, when I noticed that there is atmosphere venting from it...

...too late I arrive, but I pick up the canister anyway, I know what is already inside, but I dare not open it. Reluctantly i scan the inside of the canister now sitting safely inside my cargo hold, only to find no life, and that lingering warmth of what was once life escaping.

This is the reason I come looking for you Beh'Hude, never again I want to have something like that repeated. I shall not rest until slavery is ended.
